Greater Gwinnett Championship Photos

Published

on

GolfWRX is live from the Champion Tour’s Greater Gwinnett Championship at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga. The 7,131-yard, par-72 Greg Norman design also hosted the inaugural Champions Tour event in 2013.

This year at the Masters, six players over 50 years old made the cut. Five of them are in the field at the Greater Gwinnett Championship, including Miguel Angel Jiminez (who finished fourth at the Masters), Bernhard Langer (T-8), Fred Couples (T-20), Vijay Singh (T-37) , Sandy Lyle (T-44) and Larry Mize (51st). Of the six, only Vijay Singh will not make the 163-mile drive from Augusta to Duluth for this week’s event.

Bernhard Langer comes off the top-10 finish at Augusta last week in good form to defend his Greater Gwinnett title, where he won by three strokes in last year’s event over Tom Pernice Jr. and Tom Lehman. Miguel Angel Jiminez, currently ranked No. 32 in the Official World Golf Rankings, will make his Champions Tour debut this week.

Other notables in the field this week are Ben Crenshaw, Mark O’Meara, Colin Montgomerie, Corey Pavin, Hale Irwin, Kenny Perry and Rocco Mediate.

Check out our photos from TPC Sugarloaf.

Thank you, Thank you!! I love looking at Champions tour bags! So interesting. Without big endorsement deals you get to see guys who get what works and they stick with it. Langer wins with his half Adams half Hogan iron set-up. Or is it Rocco with the funky wedges and skully woods? I dunno but please keep it up WRX.

GolfWRX was scouring the range and practice greens at the Safeway Open earlier this week, and we have a ton of photos from Napa for your viewing pleasure.

In addition to five general galleries of photos, we got WITB looks at Hideki Matsuyama, Morgan Hoffmann, Jhonny Vegas, among others. We also took a peek at Bryson DeChambeau’s prototype LA Golf Shafts “Rebar” wedge shaft, the new Scotty Cameron Tour Rat putter cover, some Nippon prototype and KBS graphite driver shafts, and new Ping PLD putters.

So, yeah, it was a pretty good week if you’re a gear junkie in need of your tour equipment photo fix.
