Adams Golf Bolsters Its Tour Staff

Adams Golf made huge news this week announcing the signing of Aaron Baddely and Rory Sabbatini.

After years of dominating club counts on the Champions Tour, Adams has recently been working hard to increase its mainstream appeal. Knowing that exposure on the PGA Tour is a key to successful marketing, Adams has demonstrated their commitment with these recent signings. Baddely and Sabbatini are two of the brightest young stars in golf and are both coming off career years on the PGA Tour. Baddely and Sabbatini are currently ranked 18th and 11th respectively on the World Golf Rankings. Both players are in the field at this week’s Mercedes Benz Championships at the Kapalua Plantation Course and are outfitted with the company’s hats and staff bags. The two will also join Q-School graduate Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey to round out the Adams PGA Tour staff.

Baddely has two career wins on the PGA Tour, the first at the 2006 Verizon Heritage and the second coming last year at the FBR Open in Phoenix. In November, Baddely claimed his first international title winning the Australian Masters in a playoff over Daniel Chopra. Baddely finished 2007 10th on the money list and 6th in the FedEx Cup Race. Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Adams Golf said, "We’re proud to have Aaron join our growing PGA Tour team. Aaron is a wonderful player and a class individual who has the potential to be the marquee player for Adams Golf on the PGA TOUR. . . Having Aaron on our staff builds on the successes we’ve had over the years on the Champions Tour as well as our recent success in hybrid clubs on tour. We’re confident Aaron will be an excellent brand ambassador for us." Baddely is also excited about his future with Adams, "After careful consideration, I have become impressed with the Adams Golf people and brand. I also believe that their highly-acclaimed R&D team is best-equipped to work directly with me to provide the right equipment for my game."

Although Rory Sabbatini has gained notoriety for his off course statements and antics, it is impossible to deny his success in 2007. Sabbatini finished 2007 6th on the money list including a win at the Colonial Invitational and T-2 finish at The Masters. Sabbatini has begun playing the Idea A3 irons, Idea Pro hybrids, and Insight driver. “It’s no secret that Adams Golf has emerged as one of the leading equipment companies in golf, both on tour and with everyday golfers,” said Sabbatini. “I’ve been playing the Idea Pro hybrid for two years, recently had outstanding testing sessions with the Idea A3 irons, and am very familiar with the quality and performance of Adams Golf products. In the end, I believe their engineering and tour departments can provide me a competitive edge and I look forward to being with a company where I can make a difference.”
