I’m not crazy about how he never takes his hat off to shake hands, You would think his etiquette would be a little better

Most guys take off their hat, run their right hand thru their sweaty hair, and then shake the hand of their opponent – – hmmm, maybe Kevin is on to something with NOT removing the hat before shaking hands.

I truly hope IF Kevin Stadler wins the Tournament this weekend HE takes off his HAT.

We sure he’s playing a Srixon ball? There was a spot on TV on Sunday where the make of his ball was completely blacked out from a sharpie. From the font of the number, I would’ve guessed it was a Titleist ball.

It was absolutely a Srixon. He “highlights” the Srixon name in orange. (At least it was that was on Sunday, when they showed an extreme closeup of the cactus ball.)

Looks like the bag of a good am player. By that I don’t mean anything “less than” a tour player. Rather, what I mean is a player who is doing nothing but playing with clubs that he has tried, and is playing them for no other reason than that they work for him. And he sticks with what is working.

Nothing to indicate that he is playing with a manufacturer’s latest and greatest invention; or that he has visited the OEM tour/testing facility and has been carefully tested into a new product matched just for him.

Everything in Kevin’s bag is indicative of purely casual trial and error and sticking with what works, until it stops working. A Callaway Steelhead III? Where did he find that? TM driver, Cally 4w, Ping hybrid, Cleveland irons and wedges (left over from his last contract), Srixon bag deal (hey, it’s just a ball)…

Same loft on the 3 wood and hybrid?

And fitting he won in Scottsdale with that putter 😉

Young Walrus is done once the long putter is banned… He won’t be able to see the ball with a conventional setup

True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400, wow, nearly a common mortal…

They might be tipped/hardstepped down. I remember walking with Kevin at the U.S. Amateur and he likes to flight the ball way down. At least he did back then.

Another Superfast! Man, for such a goofy looking club, it sure has kept its mojo with guys on tour. It may be the oldest driver on tour that multiple players are playing??? Oh…thats a new thread

I think they should rename his putter… “Carefree” does not make the cut.

      Feb 3, 2014 at 10:34 am

Ping tends to name putters after cities in Arizona.. Carefree being one.

another ‘winner’ gaming older clubs- we could all learn a thing or 2 there and save some dollars

Saved a bit on the heads but all the shafts are still aftermarket $$
