July 2012 Editors Choice: Best 5 Drivers
The GolfWRX Editors’ Choice Awards
.
We recognize the very best golf gear. We tested, fitted and debated to develop the list in lieu of spending countless hours in the GolfWRX forums obsessing, reading, writing, buy and selling as we and up to 900,000 others do every month. See how we select the winners.
.
Ping i20 Driver-
Tested as one the best if not the best this year. Just an incredibly good looking driver. Flat black paint makes this head look mean. Also the sound it produces is a muted yet hot sound that you will grow fond of next to its peers. Distance, spin and launch all tested awesome. This is a front runner for the driver of the year.

.
Taylormade R11s Driver-
Testing is proving this driver is as long as any driver tested to date. So many good drivers out there today we found the profile, sound, forgiveness and distance to stand up to anything we tested. Human testing is obviously subjective but we at GolfWRX suggest you to try to look past the white and hit the driver when testing.

.
Callaway RAZR FIT Driver-
The ballspeed is nearly equal to the FT9-TA, the forgiveness is superior and right now all I need to do is bring down my spin and landing angle degree which I think I will be able to do with some shaft tweaks. The driver is very playable as is, but being how I am… well I am very particular to the ballflight I want to see. In the words of Tiger Woods “I’m close “

.
Titleist D2/D3 Driver-
It’s a hotly contested claim but the 910 D2 and D3 are going to be vying for the title of best drivers on the market. Titleist have shown that they are able to remain true to their better player roots while offering something more to the average player. The patented, innovative, SureFi Tour, dual-angle hosel provides precise, independent loft and lie adjustments to fine tune ball flight for more accuracy and control.

Nike VR S Driver- The tour-inspired NIKE VR_S Driver features a bigger club head, a deeper face and exclusive NexCOR face technology, all to produce more speed at impact for greater distance. With optimum aerodynamics, a longer, lighter Fubuki shaft, and and adjustable, customizable launch angle system STR8-Fit. Nikes new NexCOR Face Technology maximizes distance for the widest range of players through a new speed-expanding multi face thickness design.

The Cleveland classic has an upgraded shaft and would be in the TP category. I liked it so much , I bought the Miyazaki shaft for my TM Burner head and it made all the difference in the world. It’s the shaft that counts!

Big surprise, the five drivers backed by the largest amount of ad spending are the five best. What are the odds?

Cobra ZL Encore gets reviewed on here, a few weeks ago and the Editors Reviewer states at the end, that it is the best Driver of the year thus far 2012.
WHERE IS THAT DRIVER IN THIS LIST ??? p.s. it is one hell of a Driver.

Wow. Really? The D2/3 is still on this list? Is the ad spending of Titleist trying to push the 913 pre-launch? i agree D2/3 is a great driver, but is it really one of the top this year? Where is the ZL Encore and the F12LS?
Hm… Five of the biggest budgets for ads get the top 5 spots… weird….

blink3665- How wrong you are.
a. Titleist isn’t a sponsor this year nor advertises with us, not dollar 1.
b. Even though this model is 2 years old your peers voted #1… http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/639172-vote-here-2012-golfwrx-community-choice-drivers/
You should read before you are so quick to judge WRX. as they say… “In GolfWRX they Trust”.

I replaced my Mizuno JPX-800 with the Ping i20 driver. I will say its longer and more forgiving. I’m very happy that I made the switch to Ping. Also, I replaced my 3 wood and 3 hybrid with the Pings i20′s. They are incredible!
